Librarians in Learning Management Systems – Leading Edge Libraries

Many academic librarians are actively exploring how to integrate information literacy into the curricula of our schools and how to embed ourselves in courses. When the librarian has full access to the learning management system, these concepts can be taken to a new level as the librarian becomes a collaborator and partner to faculty in setting up competencies, developing learning outcomes, creating active learning experiences, and assessing student learning.

At Lancaster Theological Seminary, we're working toward a seamless integration of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy into our curricula and our learning management system. It is a comprehensive approach that begins at new student orientation and runs through the course of the degree program. This session will chronicle the development of our program, our progress to date, and plans for the future.

This presentation was given at the 2018 Leading Edge Libraries Conference, sponsored by the Florida-Caribbean Chapter of the Special Libraries Association.
